Not only do they ask for your username and password, they explain exactly what they will do with the information in the terms and conditions printed right on the login screen in fairly big text. If people want to go ahead and give it to them then that's their affair. And for concerned parents who say that their kids don't know what they are doing - why do you let them use the internet unaccompanied? They WILL find stuff that you would rather they wouldn't see.
