Switch/Revert to Classic Old Version MSN Hotmail
From now on every user in Hotmail will be automatically redirected to the latest full version of user account. However if you miss the good old Hotmail inbox, you can actually do some easy tweaking to switch / revert it to the classic old version of MSN Hotmail Login Page. Here’s how it is done:
Login to your Hotmail account. After that choose the ‘Option’ button on the top right corner. There will be a drop down menu, in which you will need to click on the “More” option. You shall see this message if you do it correctly.
You are using the classic version of Windows Live Hotmail.
Have a fast connection and want more features? Try the full version to see message previews in your inbox. (It’s free, too.)
You can also Switch to MSN Hotmail.
Yeah, no more full version of Hotmail, just the classic old version of MSN Hotmail 
Can’t switch back to the classic hotmail account. I really don’t like the live hotmail and I have been spending already too much time to get the classic back. Is anyone can help me to do it please.

i too was forced to change to the new windows crap, and hate it with a passion
, simple solution to revert back is to do a system restore to a date and time when you had the original mail and messenger, i just did and i,m back to what i had before and doing the happy dance 
i was forced to change yesterday feb 1st, so i restored back to friday and low and behold it worked 
Did you need to reboot afterward?

L.VIJAYARAGHAVAN. did you click “upgrade to the all-new yahoo mail”? if you want to revert to yahoo classic, look to the top left of the page where you will find your name. you find the options: Sign out, what’s new and mail classic. click on mail classic and i believe that will do the trick. in case you might want to get your page to look like what it is now, just click on “upgrade to the all-new yahoo mail”. you will find that below your search box which has the “search mail” and “search the web” tabs beside it. let me know, if you are able to do it.
Ever since Hotmail has changed ownership, it has become a crap. The classic version was real “Classic”.
The new version is Trash.. why it should be thrust on everyone.
It should be available as an option.
Please help in going back to classic version.Option to switch NOT available in more options. Hotmail people seems to have removed it!!

Now they have bloody banner ads down the side of the page that obscure all your messages. You can’t even close the side bar – there’s no ‘x’ button.

Since I cannot revert to non-Live Classic Hotmail, I switched to Yahoo, and now only use Hotmail Live for online purchases, airline tickets, etc., or other things that seem to generate spam.
I have had the account since 1995! but now Hotmail has become my garbage can.

The new MSN fucking SUCKS!!!! In web cam converstations I cant view my own cam, I cant customize the colours of my contacts windows, or my own for that matter, its all so ugly, the display pic is switched to the left hand side(wtf is that!?!?!? disgusting) and now i can only choose between 4 statuses(available, busy, away and aprear offline…… WHY WOULD THEY TAKE SOME AWAY!?!!? I WANT MY ‘OUT TO LUNCH’ STATUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) this is complete bullshit, its supposed that when they update a program they will AAADDDDDD features not take some away, and the least they could do is allow people to run older versions of MSN, buuutt nooooooooo!! THEY HAVE TO BE ALL NAZI ON US, FUCK WINDOWS LIVE MESSENGER 2009 FUCKIN BULLCRAP ASS MOTHER FUCKERS, IF I WASNT SO LAZY TO SAVE ALL MY SHIT I HAVE IN MY EMAIL(a lot of shit) AND COPY ALL MY CONTACTS ID CLOSE MY ACCOUNT RIGHT NOW, I ALMOST DID REGARDLESS………….
A window came up and asked if I wanted to up-grade to this new version (like it was an option), and when I declined it told me I couldn’t continue unless I agreed to (up-grade)??!!…Now after forcing me to download it, not only will my emails not open, but I hate everything else about this new version…So after wasting that time, I’m now wasting more time trying to revert back to the classic (better) version, which if I’m not able to do, i’ll go to G-mail or Yahoo, which I’ve been told in the past are better…I hadn’t changed up till now because I was satisfied with my hotmail, but I absolutely don’t like anything about this new version, and still wouldn’t even if I could open my mail!!!
I hate the live version, I can’t even get into my old email account, keeps saying my password is wrong, and I can’t link them together, because well my password is wrong, I have had the same password forever, and now can’t get my contacts . I am very irritated by the whole thing, cant see anything that says switch back to the classic version. I was perfectly fine with the old version

it is a damned microsoft-problem!!! me too i hate this msn live, which suddenly appeared (probably i had to update something and there it was). it is a totally confusing programm! I cannot stand it either….
before i read all this stuff to-day for the first time, i asked the hotmail-helpdesk (during many, many days) to help me: they gave me 7-10 suggestions, one of them to update IE (though I’m not using it), to take away the add block plus (which i did, but it didnot help), moreover they gave the most craziest information (and making a mess – so i didnot do what they told – it all seemed very ridiculous to me), hoping you switch to IE and to the microsoft products. (in IE my hotmail is working perfectly – but i don’t want to use TWO browsers – but at this moment i do, until i find a solution, which seems NOT TO EXIST, except of leaving hotmail)

my problem with hotmail in firefox is: when I reply, the original text of the sender is gone…..(And as i have 2 hotmail-accounts, it switches even from one to the other ).
I was thinking to change to outlook or gmail.

I know someone had to personally change what wasn’t broken to justify his/her or their paychecks….but I will say I am”NOT” a fan of the new MSN web page whatsoever!!!! In the past I have enjoyed change but this change was a big mistake….bring back the old classic MSN web page.
In short as NEW YAHOO is the FAILURE so the NEW HOTMAIL is also the complete FAILURE.

I just Googled ‘why is the new hotmail so crap’, and this page is what I got, lol.
Absolutely bloody feckin useless, that’s what hotmail has become (msn hardly any better, and also much worse than before). They should fire every single person who has designed this utterly annoying rubbish.

I lost a very important email dated back 2007. It’s much needed for a legal case!Just read it last week and now it’s missing.

I gave it a try; I spent time trying to make it better with less ads and crap! I tried to download the older msn page but MSN has locked it out. Too bad msn I am going to Firefox now. You missed up a good thing just so you could collect more info in where we go on the web sites so you can sell it to marketers.
I dont’t even care if Windows Live looks worse than the classic version. All I wanted was to access my e-mail. I can’t even do that because the new version requires too much from my internet connection. Now I have to go out of my way just to read my messages. Put the “Switch back to classic” option back on the login page!

For years my hotmail has been pestering me to upgrade to the Live version. I have always refused and therefore kept the original hotmail. Lucky me it seems!
However, hotmail has become intolerably slow. Just to navigate around my hotmail requires a patient state of mind. What happened to clik and read? Why is it now click, wait, get annoyed, click, click, click, scream at the monitor, click, wait 2 minutes, then read? My internet connection at home is broadband which sometimes dips I’m sure you all know, but at work it’s a T1 connection!! My FF browser is secure, firewall, anti-spyware, anti-virus, router, etc… all are fine. My yahoo and gmail accounts are all fine and function at a fast pace. No conflicts on my system.
Lately, when I do manage to get to read an email, I am halfway through when it suddenly switches back to the inbox. Note my system is totally optimal, well guarded and maintained. There’s no bug in my system. I’ve tried on different computers and it’s not me.
When I want to reply to an email, it will generate a reply setup, but the original message is sometimes there, sometimes not. There is no consistency!! The options don’t inclde anything that seems to handle this. I want the original message there so I can read and reply point by point.
I have been using hotmail since 1996, and become thoroughly disappointed. Could this be a deliberate ploy to push us away? How could such a shoddy service (albeit free) emerge from what was once the market leader??

MSN. If your clients didn´t click the button for new live Hotmail, didn´t you assume that it might be because they tried it and hated it. Please give us the old classic version. My father is in his eighties and does not understand the new version. Whist it might be ok for young techie whizz kids, some of us are technophobes who like to do things in a methodical way with the system we came to understand.
