Maxis Broadband? Or Celcom Broadband?
I am currently using Maxis Broadband myself, however it has come to my attention that Celcom Broadband also provide similar service, but with a better performance. Maxis Broadband is good enough for my use, but I heard a lot of people complaint about it, so should I change to Celcom Broadband? If anyone of you viewing this post are one of the users for both services please leave your opinion below so that I can compare both of them.
i using Celcom Broadband at first but the service frequantly terminated, try using Maxis at the same place but the service is good.In cameron Highland certain place only can use Celcom Broadband but Maxis can Use up to Gunung beringchang(4000m) from sea level cameron.
Advise you to change to other products.the connection is very bad same to their customer service..me now suffer using maxis broadband..come to change other product which time respect and faster than maxis..I think maxis broadband such as failure product
I am using Celcom Broadband (postpaid and previously postpaid). I found that the service really sucks, not what Celcom says (widest coverage, faster speed etc.). I use broadband both in Seremban and my kampung near Bahau, NS. Even in Seremban, it is faster to use dial-up from Telekom during daytime even if the modem is giving 3G connection. While in my kampung only 2G is available (the widest coverage) and the best speed is available at between 2am and 6am. During daytime, it takes about 5 minutes, if you are lucky, just to open the homepage (the fastest speed). Most of the time, you are just staring at a blank screen. So if you are the kind of person who wakes at night and sleep during daytime, then Celcom Broadband is the best choice for you.
well said DiGi TURBO is the best for me…using 1 year the surfing performance is much better as celcom & maxis are sucks poor coverage….so pls change for DiGi now
well obivously.. broadband coverage and speed is limited to place.. maybe at your place digi is better, but, place, digi is SUCKS.. i tried my friends’s digi broadband, webpage takes about 1 minute to show. lol…. better look for fixed line.. better yet no fair usage policy
If you ask the Celcom dealer about 3G coverage, they will promise you heaven and earth. I asked them about 3G in my kampung, they said it would be available in September this year. Now it’s almost the middle of October and still no sign of getting 3G service. In my opinion, if you are using broadband only in selected places (KL, JB, Penang etc) then go on, change to Celcom Broadband. Else stick to your Maxis. I think DiGi offers better connectivity even though I’m not sure about coverage.
i’m using celcom b.band for a year. Now my connection is slowing down… I heard Maxis b.band is better.
yah maybe maxis broadband is better than celcom broadband coz i use celcom broadband but the connection is very slow lazy to use even u pay for advance bill the signal also very slow so now im planning to change to maxis broadband maybe much better than the celcom broadband….
hahahaa…. bt streamyx rite here r gettin worse… my fren also complaining bout the speed during the night n weekends… its low… n my celcom bb… well, can use, bt still a limited connectivity… n P1wimax, dnt hv coverage here…. bt i tink i can manage wit my celcom bb… thnx 4 ur advice mhb… bt i tink maybe at other places, streamyx will b more faster… bt tis place, its a pain on the ass…
There isn’t much difference celcom or maxis. It is the coverage that matters and how heavy your usage. If you use beyond the 3G usage limit it slows down to the extent that it is actually shutting down. you have to wait the next reset day which is about a month. there is no unlimited package and if there is one it will be very expensive. try and get more knowledge about broadband services from relevant websites. celcom and maxis are providing identical services and i have used both and i find both are same.
celcom package daily/weekly unlimited usage. max speed 384kbps at the best afford ( either 3g/hsdpa coverage ). maxis daily/weekly data package max speed
7.2mbps but actual speed depend on ur area. I can get 3mbps max. The most
important is maxis have limited data usage 500mbps daily for rm 8. Rm 198 for
12gb data usage monthly ( expensive lol ) , is 12g/month enough for you???.
Celcom monthly unlimeted data usage is RM99 speed 3g=384kbps, hsdpa=3.6mbps, SO choose wisely.
Dont use celcom broadband if your area just got 3g coverage because the speed really suck.
if u’re in penang i recommend to apply Penangphone.. im using it now and 2 years and it was excellent coverage.RM60 permonth with rm 120 reg fee.
which one is good maxis or celcom ….??? pls help me in this question…???? and which one their service is good..????maxis or celcom…??? and which one is faster maxis or celcom..???? plzzz
Hi..for ur cases, plz indicated where do u live, but for overall celcom is much better than maxis..like me is alwyz on de move,& i’ve use maxis & celcom, even maxis can get 7.2mb -it’s just show only..i’ve compare during d/load,celcom is abt 5x faster than maxis even celcom only up to 3.6mb.
But as mention earlier..depend on ur area.
I live in SS2 and have tried using celcom prepaid broadband. it works great. The line are stable whereas maxis having the postpaid broadband sucks in SS2. occassionally i travel outstation and find that celcom prepaid broadband is considerably cheap… no commitment. Well, the line is stable and speed works faster than my streamyx
. I would suggest that if you cant decide which one to signed up… you can try the “celcom blue” with the starter pack of RM3 only, then u can topup RM6 for unlimited 24 hours usage, if it is good then u can signed up for celcom, if it doesnt work in your area, then u only loose RM9 for trying out right! the choice is yours
Hello … I’ve never tried broadband before ( the one with modem – plug-in USB type). I am currently on streamyx at home & office. I’ll be travelling to Malacca next week for a week. Can anyone advise me which service provider ( Maxis , Celcom or Digi ) has better coverage in Taman Kenanga area. And also, which one is cheaper. Anne suggested “Celcom Blue” as it is cheapest one and will not burn a hole in your pocket if the service is not good . I uses the services just for e-mails. Thanking you guys & gals in advance.
if just for email, better use free public wifi..mamak stall etc..nowadays lots of places got this..
Hi,
I am in Kampar, Ipoh area. Streamyx here totally sucks. Especially in the night time. Did ask the technician to come and have a check but the results is the same. Change everything they can. The modem, cable and even the port in the station.
I try out with the Maxis broadband recently. So far, is okay in this area.
well said DiGi TURBO is the best for me…using 1 year the surfing performance is much better as celcom & maxis….so pls change for DiGi now
I live in Kuching and I found that;
1. DIGI Unlimited Plan- Not much coverage for 3G in certain areas (Esp with iPhone 4), sometimes it drops to Edge and has only one bar and you can’t use the phone which is useless. But SPEED is amazing.
2. MAXIS 3GB Plan – Coverage is OK for 3G. Even on iPhone 4, still has full bar coverage but on EDGE. Speed is so-so, it depends on time. BUT, when I checked my bill the last time, I was charged RM 4, 396.60!!!!!!!!! Then they have some sort of stupid rebate of -RM 3000+++ which makes my total line charge of only RM408
STiLL SUPER EXPENSIVE! Especially when I don’t use my phone for calling or sms very much.
If I could I would attach my bill for you to see.
3. Celcom RM98 Unlimited (which is actually until 5GB only) – Coverage is good. BUT the SPEED is super SLOW!
So, which one will you choose?
Celcom is one of the most suck service, since it provides only 60kbps for mostly 26days per month and you can only use 365kbps for 4 days! It only because of the 5 GB only lasts 4 days for 365kbps speed! After usage gone, no more speed for you, thus The broadband is a just sucks mini speed slow like hell internet service…
Maxis sssssucks!..In the panel meter reads full bar HSDPA but the speed is jumping up & down like ‘berok’..should change the name to ‘maxis berokband’..better wait for UNIFI coming this Jan in my area.
yeah…i always call maxis broadband as “maxis berokband”!!^^
i’m becoming more n more confuse now…haha..i’m study at bangi n i’m using maxis bb now..here have university wifi but bcoz lots of people use it the speed becomes slow n slower!i use wifi juz for email n facebooking but now i’m having trouble connecting with the wifi!sucks!!!thats why i have to use bb all the time!!!n i really love to download videos n streaming..everytime i want to download i have to add my volume quota.its expensive lol..i’m thinking of change my bb.any suggestion??
hello, i’m from ipoh, living in Taman Meru, which is a very hilly area. I know hills do affect the coverage for internet and cell phone services.. right? so which is the better broadband choice for me? a friend told me to go for maxis. any other suggestions please? thanks in advance.
Previously using Celcom Broadband with RM 98 package, good enough for my surfing experience. Then change to Maxis broadband with RM68 package.
The problem with Maxis was, when you exceed the quota, you will always be directed to maxis homepage whenever you open your browser. So annoyed.
Fo me Celcom is the best in term on wireless broadband. I will apply for Celcom once my current broadband contract, expired in March 2010. Anyway happy new year.
I am registered the Celcon Broadband service on 13 Dec 2010,when first plug in the speed is seem ok , however after few minutes i noticed only GPRS word appearedon the screen ,after 2 weeks i found the there no any improvement on the network coverage as per promised given by the sales agent. At last i decided to terminate the line ,when i meet the celcon staff they request me to pay RM 100.00 for not even 1 month usage , i dont no what type blady calculation it is. I am am totally disagree about that and after twist and turn sometime they ask to pay for RM 60.00.I have have no choice due very sick and tired argue with the blood sucker network system.I pay for it and immediate get for the Maxis broadband service which i found good and very consistent.
My advice to whoever look for broadband service dont go for the Celcon ,actually they cheat us .i have learn it from lesson
i had using Celcom bb from April 2010..for a few month the connection is ok..about 3 bar 3G..not too bad but lately the connection really..really suck..now it’s going a month..i’m going to terminated soon..
hi,friends,I read all your information!I am also customer like you…when I read all your message only one things we should take point, examples you used celcom broadband we must see the location first if your received 3g coverage first its speed!but wait it is also deepand on your package…if your subscribe rm 68.00 package only 3gb ,so here our speed deepand on our quote and location and 3g coverage after the quote finish your broadband become slow same case go to maxis…so i hope we must be patient..as soon as possible our customer service will restore the problem…
I’ve been able to test using speedtest and pingtest for Celcom BB, Maxis BB and Yes 4G. Test near dataran merdeka area.
Celcom BB, DL=2.5 Mbps, UL=0.11Mbps, Pingtest = D.
Maxis BB, DL=1.1 Mbps, UL=0.3Mbps, Pingtest = B.
Yes 4G, DL=1.1 Mbps, UL=0.5 Mbps, Pingtest = C.
Most people understood bandwidth so let me just talk about my observation concerning pingtest.
Online banking, SSL connections and web applications (like google doc or online community based games) work best if you get better pingtest score (A is the best) though I have no idea why.
BTW, for comparison streamyx 1 Mbps pingtest score is A.
NM.
I’m maxis bb user, maxis always redirect your bookmark to maxis website call MYLAUNCHPAD and block you Opera Mobile in your phone. Meaningless using this type of services provider.
I am using Celcom broadband (RM 98/month), the connection slows down greatly especially during the night, and I am using it principally in the area of Air Hitam, Penang. So, I am thinking Celcom is probably just boasting around with the slogan, but never did implement what the slogan says. Am thinking of switching to MAXIS.
i’ve been using maxis broadband for more than 2 years..
never regrets..
evevthough i live in kampung area but the service is excellent..
good job for maxis broadband..
p/s: give it try..
Maxis broadband is better from celcom. From first you sign up until you want to terminate your broadband, you will feel is maxis the best in Malaysia. They customer service also not bad.The line so superb and you can check my speed .
reminder : want register, better go maxis centre~~
i need to stay in the jungle for years. (working). so can anybody help me which line is better for internet access by mobile??? please…………………………………………………….
anyone compare to digi package before?
now i’m use maxis broadband but the prize is very high…what broadband i supposed to choose?celcom or maxis?is the better to get faster connection any area?
hey, i’m studying in dungun, terengganu. which 1 will be better? either maxis or celcom? most of student here using celcom, n i have tried once or twice, the connection is getting slower each days.
